Description

What is Startup India Registration?

It's a process where a company or individual registers their business as a recognized startup with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to access various benefits under the Startup India Scheme.


🧾 Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify as a DPIIT-recognized startup:

Criteria Requirement
Type of Entity Private Limited Company, LLP, or Registered Partnership Firm
Age of Business Not older than 10 years from date of incorporation
Annual Turnover Less than ₹100 crore in any financial year
Original Entity Should not be formed by splitting or reconstructing an existing business
Innovation Must be working toward innovation, development, or improvement of products or services

📄 Documents Required:

  • Certificate of Incorporation or Registration

  • PAN of the entity

  • Details of directors/partners

  • Brief description of the business

  • Website link, pitch deck, or product details (optional but useful)

  • Patent/IPR (if available)


🛠️ How to Register on the Startup India Portal:

  1. Visit: https://www.startupindia.gov.in

  2. Sign up and create a profile

  3. Choose "DPIIT Recognition for Startups"

  4. Fill the online application with:

    • Entity and director details

    • Business activity and innovation brief

    • Upload required documents

  5. Submit the application

🟢 If approved, you'll get a Startup Recognition Certificate.
